Letters from the Editor for issues

Seeking ‘Connections’

In returning to Sentience for Issue Two, the editors wanted to create a bookend to the “Isolation” of Issue One. In part, this is because Sentience began as a pandemic project, conceived as a way to keep story and language moving in a time of palpable disconnection, an extension of workshopping from a distance and… Read More Seeking ‘Connections’

From 🐅 to 🐇. Our work is still before us. https://www.instagram.com/p/CmqA0DXulMe/ A happy Christmas day to everyone who celebrates, from the staff of Sentience! Happy First Night of Hanukkah, from all of us at Sentience Literary Journal! #literarymagazine #litmags And many happy returns. 🌴 Happy Halloween! 🎃👻 We hope you all have a fun and safe night! In our last contributor spotlight for Issue 2: Connections, there is much to consider in Jacqueline Rose's multimedia inquiry into what binds us together, what we fabricate to set ourselves apart from each other, and how nature's triumphant resilience can teach us all how to grow more fully. Ivan de Monbrison's self-translated poem, "There is a Lot of Noise in the City," effectively captures the fleeting moments of life on a busy street corner which are, in turn, suspended in greater seasonal shifts.
